* meeting with Benny Dagan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
* visit to camp for children and dislocated families near Ashkelon
* visit the town of Sderot and inspection of sites damaged by Qassam rockets
* meeting with the Mayor of Sderot, Eli Moyal
* meeting with the Minister of Transportation, Shaul Mofaz (former Minister of Defense)
* proceed south to the lookout point of Nabih Mar’i near Gaza
* return to Jerusalem
* dinner with senior diplomats, newly assigned to ambassadorial posts throughout the world

* tour of Nahariyya and villages in the area hit by Katyusha rockets (cancelled because of road blocks)
* visit the family of abducted soldier Gil’ad Shalit at Mitzpe Hilla (cancelled because of road blocks)
* condolence visit to the family of Wisam Nazzal in the Druze village of Yanuah (cancelled because of road blocks)
* meetings with Directors of University Medical School and Ramban Hospital in Haifa; visits with hospitalized victims of recent attacks and their families
* meeting with mayor of Haifa Yona Yahav and Director of Haifa Police
* dinner with AJC program alumni and other Israeli guests at the Dan Panorama Hotel in Haifa
* return to Jerusalem and overnight at David Citadel
day three - thursday, 20 july
* breakfast with Gideon Meir, Deputy director General for Public Affairs
* depart for Tel Aviv
* meeting with Minister of Tourism Isaac Herzog
* meeting with Uri Lubrani, Coordinator of Policy on Lebanon and Iran
* meeting with Amira Dotan, Member of Knesset, Chair, Foreign Defense Committee
* closing dinner with Uzi Arad, Head of the Herzog Institute of Policy and Strategy at the Interdisciplinary Center of Herzliya
